#MeToo Named "Person of the Year" by TIME Magazine

The #MeToo movement that took social media by storm has been named “Person of the Year” by TIME Magazine.

The #MeToo movement inspired women and men all over the world to come forward and share their stories of sexual abuse. The hashtag generated awareness during the wake of sexual harassment and assault charges against film producer Harvey Weinstein.

The cover features “The Silence Breakers” who are women that have spoken out against sexual abuse. Missing from the cover is Tarana Burke, who started #MeToo more than 10 years ago. Tarana said “This is just the start. I’ve been saying from the beginning it’s not just a moment, it’s a movement - Now the work really begins”. Read the article here. Image Source: Time Magazine
