Gap's newest campaign "Meet Me in the Gap" stars no other than Pop Star Cher & Rapper Future (What a combo, am I right?). The very rare duo sing cover Sly & The Family Stone's "Everyday People", while sporting the latest Gap fashions. In a interview Cher said “I love the idea of ‘Meet Me in the Gap’ because it’s easy to have common ground if you are really open and curious to people from different cultures,” said Cher. “I didn’t know who Future was before this, but I knew it would be fun to work with someone who is completely unlike me, and who is young, really talented and striving.” Future stated “It was cool to work with someone who is in the industry but has such a different background and life from me,” he notes. “Our love for music really connected us. She’s a true performer and a legend.” - Future's 3 year old son with singer Ciara is also featured in the Gap Kids campaign releasing this fall. It's said that Future will keep the denim jacket that he wore in the shoot to pass down to his son: “With both of us being in campaigns for Gap I think it would be cool to pass down that piece of memory to him. Coming into this, I wanted to have as much fun as he did.” The "Meet Me in the Gap" campaign officially started in July of 2017. Gap released videos on YouTube that brought people from one end of the spectrum, to the other to collaborate on a piece. They wanted to showcase what happens when you bring people of different background together. Gap had basketball players, tap dancers, and a beat maker come together. As well as a auctioneer, beat boxer, flutier, and yodeller. Take a peek at the colab below:
